Jack Donaher and Essex County Co-Op was honored today by The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. George Charos, Area Chair, dropped by to deliver the award which recognizes Jack Donaher and Essex County Co-Op as a patriotic employer.
Co-Op driver, Chris Gallant, has been an army reservist since October 2008. He is part of the FSC 36 8th Engineer Batalion and also was deployed to Afghanistan for a year of active service. His unit provides forward support of equipment, food and shelter for our troups. The Co-Op is proud to support him in his service to our country.

During the Board of Directors meeting on September 17, 2014 Mr. John R. Donaher (Jack), of Topsfield, was voted to the position of Vice President of the Essex County Co-Operative Farming Association. Jack's new title will be Vice President, General Manager. Mr. Donaher has been a member of the Board of Directors with tenure at the "Co-Op" for the last 25 years.
Along with his new duties as Vice President, Jack will continue to oversee the day-to-day operations at the "Co-Op" along with his group exceptional managers and associates.

Cliff Elliott has been a member of the board for 48 years and served as President for the past 46 years. He will continue his membership on the board with the title President Emeritus for his years of dedicated service and leadership.
Mr. David M. Johnson of Topsfield was elected Board President. In commenting on his new role, Mr. Johnson stated “I am pleased and elated to assume a management role in a company with the heritage and longevity as the Essex County “Co-Op”. I have big shoes to fill, but I am confident that working with my fellow board members and a terrific General Manager, Mr. John R. Donaher (Jack) as well as his exceptional managers and staff, the company’s future is bright. Customer Service will remain a top priority as it has been in the past. In Essex County with the ever changing retail landscape, the “Co-Op” has been a constant in what it sells for 96 years and will continue to meet the needs of our customers, stockholders and the many communities we serve.” Johnson concluded with “What a special place the “Co-Op” is to shop! From chicken feed to socks, from birdseed to sweatshirts, from mulch to seasonal items, sheds, hay/shavings, boots as well as apparel we have everything for everyone!”
